It’s the time of the year again, for us to usher in the brand new lunar year. This time around, the Ram takes a bow, passes the baton over, and gracefully heads for the exit, as the Monkey takes over from the Ram to mark the official handover in the lunar annual cycle.
Chinese New Year tradition has always been central around family members. And one of the most practiced tradition among Chinese families all over the world during the auspicious time, is the famed family gathering for dinner on the eve of the new year. So it’s time again to quickly finish up what’s left of your work, pack it away, and travel back home to your long awaited reunion dinner with your family members.
After which you can start comparing notes with your uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and siblings, on how much experience, knowledge, wealth, etc., you have accumulated over the whole of the past year over the customary Mah-Jong table.
Here’s wishing all of our readers a very Happy Chinese New Year. And may the year of the Monkey bring you lots of love, joy and happiness to be shared with your family, extended-family, friends, loved-ones, acquaintances, strangers you meet down the street, strangers you don’t get to meet, and all of human-kind all over the world.
Happy Chinese New Year, And Stop Monkeying Around!
